My name is Aubrey Halliday, I was born and raised by a mother that didn't know how to do her own makeup. Sure she could paint her face with foundation, pencil in her eyebrows and apply the basic lipstick in the case of a formal event; but that was it. I was raised a tomboy, told not to fear spiders, mice or snakes and handed a blowtorch to kill the weeds in the front yard.
It wasn't until high school that I even started to look at makeup and hair. So I cut my hair short I colored it every color of the rainbow. This is also when I started my experiments with makeup. So sitting in front of my bathroom mirror with a printed picture or a tutorial playing loudly from my computer in the hallway, I slowly began mastering my makeup and hair skills. Many things went horribly wrong while others became a masterpiece. Soon my family came to the understanding; if the family was going out they needed to give me more than an hour in the bathroom to experiment with a new look. Though it wasn't until my freshman year of college that I actually considered it a career.
So enrolled in a cosmetology school wear i truly learned my passion and talent was makeup and not hair. Unfortunately my school was more about hair. So once again i was left to my own devices, stalking blogs, youtube, books, pictures and movies. After gaining some confidence I started to put my name out there.So far i have done photo shoots, Fashion shows, comic book conventions, Weddings, and even a student movie.
Though many things have gone wrong I have also learned many lessons and am leaning to better things as i go.
As of now I am striving more towards the movie industry and I wish to specialize in prosthetics; but that will take some time. so in the mean time your welcome to enjoy my portfolio.
